We are here for significance.

I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It's a sort of splendid torch which I've got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handling it on to future generations.

Success is generally defined in terms of financial assets, achievement, fame, recognition, and wealth. In a word our "outcome". On the other hand there is "significance" while less tangible it concerns the process. Significance is importance, meaning, essence, relevance, and value. Significance guides us by a desire for something greater than just tangible success.

To spur on significance we need a sense of urgency. Life is short and we need to utilize every second. We are challenged to priortize our life so we can make every minute and moment special. We also have to see the whole not just the small part that is today. Our continued focus is most important as we look at the whole picture of our life not just specific pieces. Why do I stay focused and continue in sales so passionately is because of the whole not the day to day grind. Our lives are made for a gigantic significance. Keep in mind you are here for an impact. It may not seem like you personally can impact the world but you may impact the life of one person.
